The Sims 4 has dropped another patch in the wake of the 'Behind the Sims' community stream and the 'Meet the Family' Michaelsons teaser. The new Sims 4 patch has released the usual bug fixes as well as new CAS and build mode content. For a full rundown of everything new in the January patch, read here.

The Sims 4 Update: Patch Notes

New CAS Items

Within the patch, new create-a-sim items have been added with an emphasis on inclusivity. These items will be under the 'Medical Wearables' accessories tab in CAS and feature the following:

  • Hearing Aid (for toddlers and older life stages, this item comes in 15 colour swatches).
  • Glucose Monitors (for children and older life stages)
  • Top Surgery Scar (this is under the body scars section and can be applied to sims from the teen life stage onwards)
  • Binders and shapewear added for under-clothes options.

New Build Mode Items

There are now light switches in The Sims 4, which can be added from build mode to rooms to make them appear more realistic.

Improvements To Consoles

  • The UI placement on PlayStation versions of the game will be automatically adjusted at game launch, whilst the option to customise it will still be within the settings menu.
  • Players can now adjust the size of their cursor on consoles.
  • Quality-of-life fix to the sims catalogue menu on consoles, it will now stay open by default.
  • The Emily guidance system is now available on consoles.
  • Added controller shortcuts.

Along with these exciting new items and features are standard bug fixes to both the base game and expansion packs, you can see a full list of all the bug fixes on the EA patch notes page here.
