The Sims 4 infant changing table missing explained

The Sims 4 infant update is finally here, but it isn’t smooth sailing for some as players have reported disappointment at certain missing features like the infant changing table. Is there a Sims 4 infant changing table missing bug?

With the free March 14 base game update, a host of new features was added to The Sims 4, including the new infant life stage and various build mode and CAS infant items.

One such item seems to be missing from the free update – changing tables for infants.

In the game, instead of magically disappearing diapers, sims will now produce dirty diapers upon changing their babies. There currently isn’t an interaction available to 'change infant at the changing table' instead, you will change them as normal but drop a dirty diaper upon completion of the animation.

This had left some fans disappointed as changing tables have been shown on promotional material for The Sims 4: Growing Together expansion, leading some to believe that the more interesting infant interactions will be locked behind a paywall.

It is true that expanded activities and milestones for infants will be added with the expansions and not the free base game update.

As such, EA has not spoken about the lack of base game-changing tables this far so it doesn’t seem to be a bug but rather a development choice.

Below is a full list of all new items added to the base game for infants, to get the item in your game just search for the name in the search bar in the build mode screen.

Along with cribs being added, most of these items are clutter items you can use to decorate your nurseries or toys for your infants and toddlers. Toddler beds can now be converted into cribs or vice versa if you have a sim with the handiness skill.

You can play Lullabies from the Crib if you have added a Mobile to it, there is an option to add either a bird-themed or space-themed mobile to the standard cribs in the game.
