Here are a few of the best cards arriving in the new Obsidian Flames expansion for the Pokemon TCG. Despite being a "filler" set with a lot of regular ex cards and a smaller number of secret rares, there are a few big hitters that most people will be looking for.

Obsidian Flames has a total of 4 Charizard ex cards, including a special illustration rare with some pretty stunning artwork as shown above. The SIR is shaping up to be the most valuable card in the set at the time of release. There's also a gold card, full art and a regular ex card.

The set also includes special illustration rares of Eiscue ex, Revavroom ex, Pidgeot ex, and trainers Geeta and Poppy. A smaller number of illustration rares means it shouldn't be quite as difficult to pull the one you want.

Fans of Generation 1 and 2 will be keen to grab the new Ninetales, Gloom and Scizor illustration rares, among others.

The set also introduces Tera Pokemon with unusual typings. For example, Charizard ex is a Darkness-type rather than its usual Fire type. The set also features a Lightning Tyranitar, Fire Eiscue and Psychic Vespiquen.
