Pokemon GO is starting the month of May off hot with the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event. This Pokemon GO event tasks Trainers with completing research in order to assist the leader of Team Instinct, Spark. If you like to hatch Pokemon from Eggs, you won't want to miss the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event!

Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero: Dates and times

The Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event begins on May 2, 2023, at 10am local time. This limited-time event will run for about a week in the game, concluding on May 8, 2023, at 8pm local time.

Larvesta and Volcarona will make their debut in the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event. The Torch Pokemon, Larvesta, can hatch from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs. To get the Sun Pokemon, Volcarona, you must evolve Larvesta with 400 Larvesta Candy.

Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero: Event Bonuses

To encourage participation in the Instinctive Hero event, all Pokemon GO Trainers can enjoy the following Event Bonuses while the event is ongoing:

  • Increased chance of hatching Shiny Pokemon from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs
  • Double XP for hatching Pokemon
  • Double Stardust for hatching Pokemon

Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero: Eggs

During the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event, Trainers can hatch Larvesta from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs. However, 7 km Eggs can birth Mime Jr., Happiny, Mantyke, Timburr, Karrablast, Axew, Shelmet, and Goomy. All of the Pokemon available via 7 km Eggs, aside from Goomy, have a chance to pop out in their Shiny variants.

One of the highlights of the Instinctive Hero event is a Special Research story revolving around the leader of Team Instinct, Spark. Trainers who manage to complete this limited-time Special Research will experience an encounter with Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory. This variant of Elekid can be Shiny too!

Additional opportunities to encounter Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory will exist in future seasons of Pokemon GO. But, as of Season 10: Rising Heroes, this Special Research is the only way to encounter Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory.

Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero: Field Research task encounters

If you're looking for more to do, the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event offers event-themed Field Research tasks. Complete Field Research tasks during the event to earn encounters with the following Pokemon:

  • Magneton
  • Chansey
  • Electabuzz
  • Magmar
  • Snorlax
  • Mantine
  • Chimecho

All of these Pokemon, besides Magneton, can appear in their Shiny variants on rare occasions.

That sums up the Pokemon GO Instinctive Hero event. Join the festivities starting May 2, 2023, and for the first time ever, you can add Larvesta, Volcarona, Shiny Mantyke, and Elekid wearing a Spark-themed accessory to your Pokemon GO collection!

Pokemon GO Rising Heroes ends on June 1, 2023, at 10am local time.
