The dates for Pokemon GO Fest 2024 have been announced, with Trainers able to take part in a Global event or attend in-person events in Sendai, Madrid, and New York City!

Pokemon GO Fest is the biggest event of the year for fans of the mobile game. As well as bringing Trainers together for a weekend of fun, there are usually long-awaited Pokemon debuts: and this year's star of the show is the Mythical Marshadow!

When is Pokemon GO Fest 2024?

The global Pokemon GO Fest 2024 event will take place on July 13 and July 14, 2024. This can be enjoyed for free, although a ticketed version will also be available for £14.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency).

There will also be three live events which you can see below:

  • Sendai (Japan) – May 30 to June 2
  • Madrid (Spain) – June 14 to June 16
  • New York City (United States) – July 5 to July 7

You'll need to purchase a ticket if you want to enjoy the exclusive gameplay features at these in-person events. You can find more information about tickets here.

What to expect from the global event

One of the biggest features of Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global is a paid-for Special Research quest that will lead to an encounter with the Mythical Marshadow! This ticket will get you extra bonuses and rewards when taking part in the event, including an exclusive avatar t-shirt.

Ticketholders will also be able to take part in the Global Challenge Arena with a new challenge appearing every hour during the event. Once Trainers have collectively completed a challenge, they'll get a bonus for the remainder of the hour. There will also be ticketholder-exclusive Incense spawns.

Regardless of whether you have a ticket or not, you'll be able to enjoy rotating Habitat Hours with themed wild spawns on Saturday. These are Dawn Meadow, Shining Day, Creeping Dusk, and Darkest Night. All of the themed Pokemon will appear again on Sunday, but not in Habitat Hours.

In total, there will be more than 70 Pokemon appearing during the event, as well as special costumed Pokemon to encounter.

Bonuses during the global event

The following bonuses will be available to all Trainers during the global event:

  • Lure Modules will last for one hour
  • Event-exclusive Field Research tasks themed around each habitat
  • Surprise encounters when taking snapshots

The following bonuses will only be available for ticketholders during the global event:

  • Increased chance of encountering Shinies
  • Up to nine free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Discs
  • Up to six Special Trades can be made each day
  • Special 7km Egg hatches
  • Habitat-themed Collection Challenges to complete

There are two rewards on offer for Trainers who purchase a ticket to Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Global early - a Sun Crown for your avatar and a Moon Crown for your avatar.

You can get the Sun Crown if you buy your ticket before May 6 and complete a set of Timed Research. You can then get the Moon Crown if you purchase your ticket before June 6 and complete a set of Timed Research.
