One thing we can say for certain is when season 1 is coming. As with previous Call of Duty titles, Modern Warfare 2 has launched into a sort of pre-season period, with the first season coming post-launch. Thankfully, players do not have to wait long for the first season to begin.

MW2 season 1 launches on November 16th, a little over two weeks after launch. This date coincides with the release of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, the new and updated version of the popular Call of Duty battle royale. There will be plenty to do for Call of Duty fans.

The start of a new season is all well and good, but what do you get for taking part? Well, first and foremost, this is when the battle pass becomes active. Players have noticed the battle pass greyed out in the game currently, as it will become available during season 1. The season pass includes content for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0, giving fans of both plenty of incentive to complete it.

As well as the battle pass, there is more coming to the game during season 1. Two new weapons have been promised for this season, as well as the return of a classic map. Which map it is has not been confirmed yet, but considering some classic maps like Terminal and Rust have been confirmed as part of Warzone 2.0, it could well be one of those.

That is everything we currently know about Modern Warfare 2 season 1. For more on the game, check out our MW2 level cap guide.
