Does Modern Warfare 2 Have Co-op Campaign?

Typically, the Call of Duty games haven't included a co-op campaign feature, but could Modern Warfare 2 be different? Modern Warfare 2 Co-op Campaign: Does it have one?
Click to enlargeTo cut a long story short, it doesn't look like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will feature a co-op campaign at launch. Modern Warfare 2 will be a direct sequel to the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare. As such, the campaign story will pick up right where the first game left off. Main characters like Captain Price, Farah, and Kyle Garrick are set to return, as are several other members of Taskforce 141.
While we'll get to see Ghost and Soap make their debut in the rebooted series of Modern Warfare, it doesn't look like we'll be able to play as them side by side with a pal. At least not in the main campaign mode, that is.
So far, here are the different modes of play officially listed by Activision for Modern Warfare 2:
- Campaign
- Spec Ops
- Multiplayer
- Warzone 2
- Warzone 2 is rumoured to be released a few weeks after Modern Warfare 2 if the new release date rumour is to be believed.
Modern Warfare 2 Co-op Campaign: What is Spec-Ops?
While the main campaign mode of Modern Warfare 2 won't be fully playable in co-op, players can get their fix by playing the Spec-Ops mode. This mode of play will be unlocked shortly after completing the main campaign of Modern Warfare 2.
Spec Ops sees teams of up to four players deployed into open levels to complete PvE objectives. If it works in the same way that Spec Ops did in Modern Warfare 2019, then it should provide additional context to the ending of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
