A Nose For News is a later quest in the game, with players encountering the starting NPC, Editor-In-Chief Phillan Kaiman, at the Origins of Stern in the Arthetine region. It is also recommended that players have reached the Lost Ark level cap. A Nose For News has multiple different objectives that need to be completed in order to finish the quest, so here are all of the steps and how to complete them:

A Nose For News - Talk to Editor-In-Chief Phillan Kaiman

To begin the A Nose For News quest, talk to the Editor-In-Chief Phillan Kaiman NPC who can be found in the Business District area of the Origins of Stern.

Hoyte News - Talk to Reporter Mathia

Next, head just slightly southeast in the same room to find Mathia and talk to her and go through the dialogue sequence.

Use the Magick Flow Detector - Follow the suspicious presence

Now, head slightly north to the map marker to complete this section, then continue moving north to also complete "Continue following them to the north".

Use the Magick Detector - Search the area around the waterfall

Next, use the Magick Detector on the waterfall to reveal an NPC hidden within it.

Talk to the Suspicious Tech Branch Employee

Interact with the Suspicious Tech Branch Employee and complete the dialogue sequence.

/interrogate the Tech Branch Employee

Once the first dialogue sequence is complete you will then need to use /interrogate in the chatbox to use the Interrogate emotion which will unlock the next dialogue sequence.
