Discovering the Fortnite The Device location is the key to communicating with The Scientist and other members of The Seven. How to start "The Device" challenge
Punchcard quests are no more in Chapter 3. Instead, challenges are split into daily, seasonal, and milestone quests. The very first season quest of Chapter 3 tasks Fortnite players with discovering The Device location. It's important to take care of this challenge early, as without The Device, you cannot complete the other season quests like placing Fortnite Surveillance Cameras and destroying Fortnite Signal Jammers.
Since discovering The Device location is the precursor to all Chapter 3 season quests, there are no prerequisites that you need to address ahead of time. It's possible to stumble upon The Device in your first match of Chapter 3.

Where can you find "The Device" in Fortnite?

You'll find The Device located within outposts belonging to The Seven. The image below displays all ten locations that house The Device:
Click to enlargeVenture inside any of the outpost buildings marked above and lookout for a small briefcase with a blue light emitting from it. Interact with The Device to collect it. For your service, you will be awarded 25,000 XP toward your Chapter 3 - Season 1 progress.
After collecting The Device, you will receive a transmission from The Scientist letting you know that he'll be in touch. When your match is over, you will have access to three brand-new quests related to the new season's storyline.
