Tekken 8 rollback netcode would be a godsend to fans of the series. The netcode for Tekken 7, before it got patched, commonly had fighters like Kazuya and Jin moving in slow motion. As the feature is being adopted into Street Fighter 6, all eyes are on Bandai Namco for Tekken 8 rollback netcode; here's what we know.

Series producer Katsuhiro Harada has confirmed that Tekken 8 will feature rollback netcode. He said on Twitter to a fan that Bandai Namco "already installed it, and it already has what you want."

Installing rollback netcode is not always guaranteed to give a great online performance, however. MultiVersus touted the feature, but the game still suffered from lag and delayed inputs for players. It will be taken down later this year and will relaunch in 2024. Hopefully, Tekken 8's rollback netcode will be well-optimized when the game eventually releases.

An essential element in any big multiplayer game is crossplay. It helps a community stay active and lets friends play matches against each other, no matter the system they have. Thankfully, the Tekken 8 rollback netcode will be functional between all of the game's available platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Harada also confirmed this news on Twitter.

"When the previous generation consoles were released, I had already proposed crossplay between the two platformers," said Harada on Twitter. "However, at that time, they were at odds with each other over their mutual interests (and P2P security issue) & repeatedly refused."

Now, Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation have all played nice and will let PC, Xbox, and PlayStation players fight each other and "get ready for the next battle." We can't wait to take down the likes of King and Paul when Tekken 8 releases.
