How many characters are in Tekken 8?
There are 32 confirmed characters for the Tekken 8 launch roster, with no mention just yet of any post-launch additions.
The announced roster is mostly made up of returning characters from older entries, including one character that we have not seen in many years. However, there are three new characters in the series that we have detailed below.
New characters in Tekken 8

The new characters coming to Tekken 8 are Azucena, Victor, and Reina. The first to be announced was Azucena. Known as the Peruvian coffee queen, she brings an energetic (likely highly caffeinated) style to the game, with lots of dodges and counterattacks.
Victor is referred to by many in the community as French John Wick. Voiced by famous French actor Vincent Cassel, Victor appears to be some kind of secret agent/assassin. In true Tekken fashion, he is very over the top with a shiny suit and some sci-fi weapons.
Finally, Reina is the latest addition to the roster. Nicknamed Purple Lightning, Reina appears to be a significant character in the plot of Tekken 8. While it isn't outright stated in her trailer, Reina has some interesting interactions with Kazuya and Jin, and fights with some classic Mishima-style moves.
Her stage even appears to be the Mishima Dojo, leading many to speculate that she is another member of the family, perhaps a cousin of Jin's, or even a much younger sibling to Kazuya, making her another heir of Heihachi. Stranger still, some speculate she may be Heihachi himself, somehow reborn in a new body. Stranger things have happened in Tekken.
