The Arkangel Directive event in Battlefield 2042 is here, and with it comes the new Control game mode, weekly missions for you to complete, and so much more to enjoy in Season 5.

While Battlefield 2042 had a bit of a rocky start, it has been rejuvenated by continued support, and the latest event is another step in the right direction for the game with plenty of content for players to unlock and appreciate.

So, read on to see all of the new content in the Arkangel Directive event in Battlefield 2042, as we've got all of the details you'll need below.

What is the new game mode in the Battlefield 2042 Arkangel Directive event?

The new limited-time game mode introduced in the Arkangel Directive event in Battlefield 2042 is Control, which has you claiming satellites and syncing the most telemetry across three maps.

Your goal in Control is to seek out the various satellites and claim them for your side to begin a syncing process. You must defend the satellite zones until the sync is complete, and after that a new satellite will appear, giving you the means to push forward.

The team that syncs the most telemetry on the map will win the game, so you will want to push onto as many satellite control zones as possible before the time runs out.

To help with this, you will be able to call in combat vehicles with earned Ascension Points, and the higher cost rewards will really be able to turn the tide of battles in your favour.

The Control game mode is played as 24v24 across three maps, which are the following:

  • Reclaimed
  • Orbital
  • Valparaiso

As mentioned, this game mode is only available for a limited time until the event ends, so make sure to take advantage of the fun it supplies while it is live.
