If you’re new to Battlefield 2042 since its launch into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play, or maybe you’re just a returning player since the launch of Season 3, you may be a little rusty. Since its launch just over a year ago, many players have powered through the ranks and unlocked the best possible gear.

Of course, this may leave you trailing behind in the dust, but that doesn’t mean you can’t catch up! There are plenty of ways to level up fast in Battlefield 2042, and some of them are quicker than others. If you’re looking to level up fast, try the following suggestions to reach the top ranks as soon as possible.

How to level up quickly

As expected, there are multiple ways to level up quickly, but we’ve curated the most efficient ways that will minimize the time and maximize the results. If you’re on the hunt for XP, try the following suggestions:

Complete challenges

Your main port of all should be to complete as many challenges the game throws at you. Whether they be daily or operator-specific, you’re going to want to take advantage of every single one that comes your way.

You’ll also unlock skins for your Specialists in the process, making it a viable way of making progress in Battlefield 2042.

Gain ribbons

If you’ve never played Battlefield 2042 before, you gain ribbons by completing objectives in the many game modes. This could be for getting kills, healing, or even capturing flags. Your best bet is to learn which ones are easiest for you to obtain each match and strive to continue collecting them as you play.

Play Portal

Portal mode allows players to create their own game modes and truly be creative. As you may come to expect, some have learned how to exploit this mode - similarly to how many Fortnite Creative players do - meaning you can farm XP on certain servers by killing bots.

It’s always worth searching through the browser and seeing if you can find any farming servers to take advantage of.

Play as a healer

Your team will always be under fire, and while it may be more enticing to gain kills, it can be just as useful in healing your team - if not more so. Making sure your squad is fully stocked up on health, reviving players, and just staying back and assisting from afar means you can quickly stock up on XP.

Play Hazard Zone

If you want to mix things up, check out Hazard Mode, which allows players to jump into much slower objective-based matches. Here, you can gain kills off enemy players and bots, along with completing a variety of objectives for easy XP. If you’re bored of the traditional modes, this is a great opportunity to earn extra XP.

Drive vehicles

Being the pilot of a chopper or the driver of a car is also another surefire way of gaining XP. Squadmates will spawn on you and maybe even gain kills from the passenger seat. All of this works to build up your XP throughout the match, netting you a big bonus in the long run if you put in the time.
