Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek has revealed the eye-watering amount of money that he has spent on microtransactions in Lost Ark, after originally claiming "it was the most boring game [he'd] ever played."

Lost Ark landed onto the scene on February 11, much to the excitement of fans in Europe and America who had been eagerly awaiting the South Korean game’s release in the West. As the fantasy MMO swept across the internet, fans were eager to see what some of the famous faces of the streaming community thought about the game, especially MMO Zack "Asmongold" who was horrified by its completion time.

Shroud initially panned the Lost Ark, but debated whether or not he should give the game another go even though he could be "bored as f*ck." After two more weeks of playing the game, Shroud has now revealed that not only has he continued to play the MMO, but that he has spent a whopping amount on in-game microtransactions.

How much money has Shroud spent on Lost Ark microtransactions?

During his livestream of Lost Ark on February 27, Shroud was asked just how much money he’d spent on the game since purchasing it. The streamer then tallied up the long list of $100 dollar microtransactions Shroud has purchased in-game. He concluded: "There has to be over $2000 spent on Lost Ark. There just has to be."

The revelation came after the streamer did a scan of all the different in-game purchases he’d made through his Steam account. Shroud stated: "You can see my purchases back in 2008 and 2009. I bought three things in one year, equalling up to $100. That’s about how it happened each year."

Things then spiked in 2013 and 2014 as Shroud claimed he made "hundreds of purchases" during that time, which he described as "insanity."

Why did Shroud spend so much money on Lost Ark microtransactions?

Shroud’s Lost Ark spends may seem like a shocking amount of money, but the 27-year-old claimed that the purchases had allowed him to advance further in the game at a quicker pace. However, he is now hesitant to spend another gold coin on the game as it is limiting the amount of his content.

Players who aren’t too keen on taking their time through Lost Ark can help get past some levels to reach the end goal at a much quicker pace. However, players who were hoping to get a little freebie can check out our guide to grab the Launch Celebration Gift
