Pokemon Teases A New Eeveelution

Pokemon has a lot of bizarre rules that it sets itself.

The world is so sprawling that it needs roping in, to be fair, but we're trusted to expect that all Pokemon will sit comfortably in their Pokeballs (except for Ash's Pikachu, obviously) and that ten-year-olds are trusted to trek islands plagued by monstrous beasts that simply roam the wilds.

And, of course, if there's a Pokemon type, there's a new Eeveelution. Eevee, bless it, is the vessel for a wealth of evolutions, spurred on by the use of any one of the many evolution stones - and you'd expect we'd seen all of them, what with there being few more Pokemon types to tick off with a new one.

But, as it turns out, that might be exactly what we're getting.

Pokemon Anime Hints At New Eeveelution

A new hint from the Pokemon Journeys anime has suggested that we could in fact be seeing a brand new Eevee evolution very soon, much to the surprise of fans.

If you've been keeping up with the show, you may know that Professor Cerise's daughter Chloe has an Eevee of her own, who was once a quieter character who came to join Ash and Goh on their journey across the franchise's many regions.

We've seen that every single main character of Pokemon evolve their Eevee if they have one, and the same seems to be true of Chloe - except her Eevee is special. This Pokemon was a test subject at the Vermillion City, who seemed to resist the effects of every stone available. The researchers told Chloe that this Eevee has "chaotic DNA", meaning that whatever it eventually evolves into could be something entirely new that we've never seen before.

What Could The Next Eeveelution Be?

There's a few directions that Pokemon could take with a new Eeveelutions, as there are a few types that Eevee hasn't actually taken up yet. Players have wanted a Ghost-type Eeveelution for some time now, and there's also the possibility of it taking the route of Ground, Rock, Bug, Poison, Steel, and Dragon.

We simply won't know what's next for Eevee until we see it unfold in the anime - but it's a lovely little reward for fans who are still tuning into the anime. And as for the rest of you waiting on a new Eeveelution in the next games - Scarlet & Violet could be the one.
