Pokemon Scarlet And Violet DLC Teased By Insider

With everything else going on in the gaming industry right now, it has become surprisingly easy to forget that a new generation of Pokemon games is on the way with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. And yet, they still seem like the most exciting and ambitious games the series has ever seen.

Clearly taking some hints from Legends Arceus, the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet seem to be the most open and sprawling mainline titles yet, with a whole Spain-inspired region to stomp around in. The games are hugely exciting, and they look as though they'll be keeping us entertained for months - but it seemingly won't end with the main game because an insider claims to have the scoop on a Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Is A Pokemon Scarlet And Violet DLC On The Way?

Blimey, can we get the main game first, please? Even before we've had a chance to take a look at what lies in store for us in Scarlet and Violet, Twitter user Riddler Khu claims to have a scoop on upcoming DLC. It sounds like it'll be much like Sword and Shield's DLC, which took the place of the typical third title to accompany the two that will initially launch.

The account has now been set to private (which many have interpreted as confirming the news), but the tweet detailed that the games will be getting some extra downloadable content on top of the story we'll be getting in the main game. Remembering Khu's previous scoops in the Pokemon world, this is pretty substantial.

When Will Scarlet & Violet DLC Come Out?

With the games launching later this year, it's not expected that the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC will be coming out anytime soon, especially if there are no details about the main game's narrative to discern just yet.

But, we do have a framework to work with when it comes to Pokemon games getting DLC. Sword and Shield launched in November 2019, and its The Isle of Armor DLC followed along in June 2020 - so could we expect the  Scarlet and Violet DLC in June 2023? Watch this space. 

It's exciting that the lifespan of the new Pokemon games won't be limited to the story we get when we pick up the game for the first time - but come one, can we have some info on the main game first? Much like Arceus vanishing before it even made a mark, Scarlet and Violet could be in trouble. Talk about jumping the gun.
