The upcoming Pokemon series has been met with outcry, but that's mostly because we're just defensive about our childhoods. It's okay, guys, change is good sometimes.

Ash and Pikachu are finally calling it a day as the protagonists, and while fans are busy being upset about it, The Pokemon Company isn't wasting any time looking to the future, working on a brand new series with all-new lead characters.

And now, we've been given some more details on what we should expect.

Pokemon's new series finally has a name

We have a new look at the upcoming Pokemon series, which has also come bundled with an official English title.

The new promotional video gives us a new look at the new protagonists Liko and Roy, and reveals the show's official title - Pokemon Horizons: The Series. Yeah, we could have seen that coming.

It's a fairly expected title, but what wasn't expected was the reveal of a stacked cast list for the series, that introduces us to the new characters that we'll meet on the show's journey (if you'll pardon the pun).

Pokemon Horizons: The Series reveals its cast

We have a good look at the series' cast, thanks to a new breakdown from Anime News Network.

The cast is as follows:

  • Minori Suzuki as Liko
  • Yuka Terasaki as Roy
  • Taku Yashiro as Friede
  • Ikue Ōtani as Captain Pikachu
  • Ayane Sakura as Orio
  • Kenta Miyake as Murdock
  • Kei Shindou as Molly
  • Ikkyuu Juku as Randoh
  • Shun Horie as Explorer Leader Amejio
  • Kohsuke Tanabe as Explorer Member Jil
  • Arisa Shida as Explorer member Konia
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Kurumin

It's an interesting peek at what we can expect from the first series to depart from Ash and Pikachu's support. Still, at least we get Captain Pikachu. He's not our favourite, but he'll do.
