The Pokemon anime is about to embark on one hell of an adventure. A new series is gearing up for its very first series since Ash Ketchum hung up his hat after becoming the Pokemon Master he'd always hoped he'd be. Pokemon Horizons: The Series introduces Liko and Roy as the new protagonists.

We're heading into a brand-new region, with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Paldea finally giving us somewhere new to explore. A lot is riding on this introduction, but eager viewers in the West will have to endure a wait before it arrives on our shore.

Pokemon Horizons started airing in Japan back in April, although its release in other territories is being kept under wraps. It looked like we could have been in luck, but The Pokemon Company quickly took it away.

Pokemon Horizons has an English-subbed teaser

Talk about giving us something just to make way for more disappointment. Our first look at the Pokemon Horizons series in English has finally touched down, and it's a fantastic peek into what the anime holds.

The introduction to Pokemon Horizons gifts us an eleven-minute opening and comes with a full English dub - presumably the same that'll come when the series eventually debuts.

It's a wonderful introduction to Liko especially, and we'll have plenty of time to get to know her properly - but there's a pretty sad reminder that comes at the end of it.

We don't know when Pokemon Horizons is coming out

Although this touch of Pokemon Horizons is lovely, there's the sad fact there's still no official release date for the show yet. This teaser aired at San Diego Comic-Con and confirmed Ash's final episodes will hit Netflix on September 9. However, it's only served as a reminder of what we're missing.

While we won't sniff at a new teaser, it's disappointing that we don't know when we'll be meeting up with Liko, Roy, and Captain Pikachu (who's sure to become a fan-favourite). An 11-minute snippet has definitely whet out appetite, but to be honest, we're not sure we can wait much longer.
