Helldivers 2 raid boss leak has us begging for a Star Wars collab

Massive Helldivers 2 leaks point to its future and potential raid bosses, but fans have noticed a similarity between these and an iconic enemy from the Star Wars series.

Cue the Imperial March because it sounds like Helldivers 2 is taking us to a galaxy far, far away. Arrowhead Games Studio's bug-blasting shooter has been on an astronomical course to the top of the charts, and after Palworld claimed an early win for Xbox in 2024, it's now PlayStation's turn.

In that lull between Call of Duty games, and with the likes of Halo and Battlefield lying pretty dormant, Helldivers 2 has swept in and flipped the rulebook on how first-person shooters should work. Taking the ever-popular extraction genre and giving it a splash of Starship Troopers, you just can't get enough of it.

Helldivers 2 could add Star Wars-inspired raid bosses

As with any big release, the key to survival is longevity. While it's only natural that Helldivers 2 will eventually be knocked from the top, seasonal updates and new mechanics can help it keep ticking along. We've already seen the arrival of mechs, but now, something altogether bigger could be on the horizon.

Twitter account TCMF2 claims that giant Automaton raid bosses are on the way, making the Terminid Bile Titans look like nothing. These massive machines look more than a little similar to the AT-AT Walkers of the Star Wars franchise, and while imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it's sparked hope of an official crossover.

Helldivers 2 already has formidable enemies like Hulks and Titans, but with raid bosses potentially just over the horizon, our palms are sweating even thinking about how to take them down. Maybe we need to rewatch how Luke Skywalker took down the AT-ATs in The Empire Strikes Back.

Helldivers 2 seems made for a Star Wars crossover

Helldivers 2 extraction

With Star Wars being one of the biggest IPs in the world, just imagine if we heard the pew-pew of Stormtrooper blasters in Helldivers 2. Despite wild rumours of a Jar Jar Binks Operator, Call of Duty has never been able to nab Star Wars. Still, with Fortnite having regular collabs, it's not out of the question.

Arrowhead and Helldivers 2 might be small fish in the Star Wars pond, but a crossover season would be one hell of a way to keep the game on the map. We've already heard about how Star Wars fans want Arrowhead to reskin the FPS formula with the Empire and Rebel scum, but we're still a long way off from that happening.

We could sit here all day and come up with dream concepts for Helldivers 2 missions taking us to Endor, Hoth, or the fiery favourite of Mustafar, but for now, it's just a pipe dream. It seems like Helldivers 2 is already taking some cues from the world of Wookiees and Wampa, so why not go the whole hog?
