Arrowhead Game Studios' Helldivers 2 is serving as proof that you don't need to have developed a pre-existing giant in the modern gaming industry to be successful. Sometimes, you just need to give players and their friends a gun and let them go to town.
The shooter has been a shocker of a game, reaching the top of most-played lists on both PlayStation and Steam, while offering players the chance to dish out justice and democracy to the furthest reaches of the cosmos has proved incredibly powerful for some.
Players might be able to tear through bugs like it's nothing, but it's the robots that are truly giving them hell. They're now making efforts to destroy robots and bugs alike as seamlessly as possible - meaning we finally have a way of chopping down the game's toughest baddies.
Bile Titans are finished with this new Helldivers 2 tactic
Bile Titans are the jagged and zippy beasts that have brought countless campaigns to a screeching halt, becoming a big problem for players. It's especially for those who get a little cocky about their ease in tearing through similar bugs - but now, one player has discovered a brand-new means of dealing with Bile Titans.
A new video showcases an unorthodox means of taking care of the Terminid beast, as the player is seen dipping and diving in and around the giant Bile Titan as smaller bugs swarm around the end of its pointy legs.
The ultimate strategy to defeat Bile Titans involves calling in an SOS beacon right underneath them. The OP darts around for a little longer to keep the monster in the same place before the drop pod finally crunches into the hard ground, straight through the Bile Titan. It's a goofy tactic by the OP's own admission, but damn, is it effective.
Helldivers fans react to bizarre killing method
Players have taken to the comments, impressed with the ingenuity of the tactic to take down the biggest baddies that cause too many problems. One player has called the method a "1 million IQ play," with another sarcastically adding that it's "definitely one of the strategies of all time."
A third cheered, "This is some giga brain moment right here," so don't be surprised if you see your fellow Helldivers pulling off this daring move in the coming days. Bile Titans used to fill us with dread, but with a bit of luck, they've been knocked from their pedestal.
One user turns to massaging the original poster's self-deprecation, adding, "I heard a wise man once say 'it ain’t stupid if it works'." It's a tactic that has impressed purveyors of democracy and proved how endless the options for killing are in Helldivers 2. Whatever gets those bugs killed is a win in our books.
