The next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto franchise isn't even out yet, but already, GTA 6 has become something of a legend in the gaming industry. Bearing in mind we've only seen one trailer, just imagine what it could be when it finally debuts.

The game has been a long time coming and is so anticipated that no other game in recent memory has had this much hype to contend with. It seems impossible for GTA 6 to reach expectations as (potentially) the biggest video game in history, but now, we're in the 'final stretch.'

According to Bloomberg, staff members who are working on GTA 6 have been asked to return to their posts as they stop working from home and head back to the office for what management is calling "the final stretch."

Rockstar Games is apparently asking team members to return to a five-day work week in the company's offices, starting on the first week of April as the final stages of development approach. An email from Head of Publishing Jenn Kolbe (seen by Bloomberg) asked team members to come back to the office for "productivity and security reasons."

It makes sense that Rockstar wants to be a little safer when it comes to GTA 6 security, especially as the game suffered one of the most brutal leaks in gaming history. Remember, its first trailer also leaked ahead of time, leading to the company pushing the launch of the first look at the game forward by hours.

What does this mean for GTA 6?

Of course, fans have leapt to the most exciting conclusion that this could indicate a GTA 6 that's just about to cross the finish line and be in for an early 2025 release. You might've been onto something...if not for the GTA of it all.

GTA 6 might be nearly ready, but we also have to consider that this is a game expected to break records in the industry and one that Take-Two Interactive knows to be a real barnstormer. We've already been warned that by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick that the publisher is "seeking perfection" before releasing GTA 6.

Chances are, GTA 6 is tied up so heavily in marketing, stockholders, and post-launch plans, it'll take some time for the game to lauch into its destiny - even if it's considered "finished" internally. Patience, our friends. GTA 6 will be here when it’s ready to be.
