The Ghost of Sparta is back flexing his muscles once again, as there will soon be a whole new way to play 2022's God of War Ragnarok. Sony has slowly been rolling out some of its PlayStation exclusives on PC, with Ragnarok's imminent arrival being a big deal.

Joining acclaimed titles like The Last of Us Part 1 and Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarok is set to push the envelope further than ever before. Still, a number of you are likely to be disappointed with the PC port's requirements or might be locked out of its release altogether.

God of War Ragnarok has some massive PC requirements

God of War Ragnarok PC port requirements

Writing on a PlayStation Blog post, Santa Monica Studio Lead Community Manager Grace Orlady confirms Ragnarok's install size will require a jaw-dropping 190GB. The mythological adventure will support all major graphics card manufacturer technologies, but alongside the massive size, it requires a PSN account AND won't run on the Steam Deck.

Considering the PS5 version of Ragnarok was still a beefy 84GB when installed, it means the Ragnarok PC port has nearly doubled that size. While there's no denying it'll likely look better than ever, that's one hell of a strain to put on your PC. There's also a new SSD requirement in line with modern AAA games like Starfield on PC.

The blog explains you'll need a new minimum of the Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD RX 5500 XT and Intel i5 4670K or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 in terms of GPU and CPU. If you want that elusive 60fps at medium settings, that requires an i5 8600 or Ryzen 5 3600 alongside the RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 and 16GB of RAM.

As expected, Ragnarok joins the likes of Ghost of Tsushima as being unverified on the Steam Deck, although Ghost's problems had to do with online co-op. Simply, Ragnarok seems it would obliterate Steam Deck. With God of War Ragnarok finally coming to PC on September 19, you've got a little longer to make sure your rig is up to spec.
