Fortnite will be adding a fan-designed skin to their store in the coming days, that will feature the rare skin condition called Vitiligo.

"Joy", also named Dalia by the artist DahjaCat, is a female roller skater that will be featured in the Fortnite store. Her rare skin condition is reflected by the various sections where her skin pigmentation changes colour.

Vitiligo is most common, but not limited to, people with darker skin, where the pigment becomes white, alongside the hairs on the body and possibly the inside of the mouth. The condition is displayed on the Fortnite skin, visible on Joy's face and arms.

First designed by DahjaCat in February, the skin will land with a rainbow coloured pair of roller skates, dressed up in a casual and light t-shirt and jeans.

The new skin will also be coming with a Doja Cat emote, as a tip towards the artist and the inspiration behind her name. Doja Cat's hit single "Kiss Me More" will be heard as Joy skates through the tropics with a panther-esque prowl and a carefree attitude.

Alongside the Joy skin, three more designs will be added. An Agent Jones-esque secret agent has been incubated in one design, with their head replaced by an alien-like brain and eyes - it appears Jonesy has been abducted by the UFOs and didn't quite make it back to the arena in one piece.

The other two characters will be polar opposites. The first comes with a nature-inspired floral array, from tree roots as feet to blossomed leaves as its head. The second is a robotic demon, fuelled by the typical purple plasma that has run turned many of the antagonists against the heroes of Fortnite.

Epic's addition of the vitiligo is another example of how the company is beginning to educate its players about inclusion and equality for minorities. Just last week, Fortnite added a Martin Luther King Jr "Walk Through Time" event where his Washington DC "I Have a Dream" speech was amongst a range of video clips played to show the struggles of racism and inequality.

Despite the obvious, and expected, Gangnam Style dances on MLK island, the event was seen as a success.

The four new skins are expected to land on September 1 in the Fortnite store.
