Seer-Meta Will Persist In Apex Legends, As Devs Delay Nerf
Since joining the Apex Legends line-up, the ominous Seer has been a meddlesome maniac in the battle royale, with many believing his stun and wallhack-esque ultimate ability is "game-breaking".
Apex Legends developers have been quick to acknowledge the overpowering nature of the recon operative, admitting that a nerf is pending, although there is some bad news.
Respawn Entertainment's team have confirmed that the upcoming nerfs to Seer's kit have been delayed, due to a problem with the hotfix programme.
Respawn Admit Seer Nerf Has Been Delayed
After releasing Season 10, the developers were quick to balance the likes of the L-Star and Prowler, with the pair of weapons being too menacing up-close. At the end of a social media post detailing the changes, Respawn said "A balance pass on Seer is planned for next week!"
However, with a week passing, players have yet to see any changes to Seer's abilities, allowing him and Bloodhound to run riot through Olympus.
Now, Apex Legends Producer Josh Medina has relayed that the team "Ran into issues with the hotfix build that had seer nerfs so we gotta fix those issues before you get a seer nerf."
As to what is expected to be in the balance is unclear. Many believe that Seer's ultimate ability has too wide of a diameter.
The developers previously admitted that he has an unintended flash within his tactical stun, which will also likely be removed, minimising the blindness of his move.
When Will The Seer Nerf Be Implemented?
Ryan Rigney, Director of Communications at Respawn Entertainment, has Tweeted that the nerf will now be coming next week (commencing August 23, 2021).
Apex Legends Season 10 has so far been dominated by Seer, although the game is quickly expanding and becoming increasingly popular. The brand-new LMG 'Rampage', has been a fair addition to the game, replacing the Spitfire (which is now in rare care packages).
With just a Seer nerf away from having a near-perfect balance to the game, Apex Legends is set to continue its upwards trajectory to being one of the best battle royales out there.
