Respawn Entertainment is rolling out the welcome wagon for Apex Legends Season 10. Away from the introduction of powerful tracker Seer, we know Season 10 will include a buff for Rampart, a new Tropics map, and a new arsenal of weapons.

As we get ready for Season 10's imminent drop on August 3, Respawn has revealed a new light machine gun called the Rampage. Players can't wait to pick up this latest weapon and hail down bullets on Olympus, but what do we know about the Rampage LMG?

What is the Rampage LMG in Apex Legends?

According to Respawn, the Rampage LMG will be “Rampart’s newest invention” and comes with “a surprising source of firepower". Okay, now you've got our attention. There aren't many details on what the Rampage can do, however, the first teasers have shown off a weapon that has a charcoal muzzle, sight, grip, and underbarrel. The top is slate grey, but apart from that, Respawn is keeping a lid on the Rampage's firepower, reload, and recoil.

Now that the Rampage LMG has been revealed to the world, expect dataminers to delve deep into the Season 10 code to give us the specifics. As it's a light machine gun, expect the Rampage LMG to work similarly to the Devotion, Spitfire, and L-STAR in Apex Legends.

What else do we know about the Rampage LMG in Apex Legends?

It's important to remember the mysterious "source" of firepower" that's been hyped alongside the Rampage LMG's release. Other weapons in the same class use energy ammunition, so it will be interesting to see whether Respawn is planning on a different form of ammo for the Rampage. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed the Season 10 trailer seems to show the Rampage being powered by Thermite Grenades.

Added to this, Rampart's passive gives a 15% magazine boost and 25% increase in reload times for LMG weapons and her minigun. Expect to see the Rampage LMG becoming a favourite of Rampart mains. The Rampage LMG also gives a buff to Fuse - suggesting an explosive addition to our stocks. The idea is that the Rampage will have an alt-fire mode similar to the Sentinel, with Thermite Grenades adding passive to shots.

If the Rampage LMG adds incendiary damage that continues over time, it "could" tie to Seer's wallhack abilities - especially remembering that damage over time damage is visible through walls. The other option is that Thermite Grenades will power a launcher attached to the Rampage. Then again, Respawn has shied away from projectile guns.

Whatever Respawn has planned for the Rampage LMG, rest assured that this is one "explosive" addition to Season 10, that's sure to blow the competition to kingdom come.
