Apex Legends tease new character 'Alter' in Collection event trailer

Season 20 of Apex Legends is entering its final stages, but the community still has the Urban Assault Collection event to enjoy before it begins to wind down.

All eyes are fixed on Season 21 and with Respawn already dropping teases on the map, it was only a matter of time before clues popped up the trailers.

Well, that's exactly what's happened in the latest Collection event trailer, with an easter egg for the upcoming character known as 'Alter' showing up.

It's quite hard to spot and is only on the screen for a matter of seconds, but it's a concrete clue that Alter is on the horizon.

New character 'Alter' teased in Apex Legends Urban Assault trailer

During the Urban Assault trailer that dropped on April 18, eagle-eyed fans discovered a small teaser for Season 21 that was immensely hard to spot.

At around 38 seconds into the video, a leaderboard shows up demonstrating the new Apex Rumble tournament system.

The top scorer is Fuse at first, but that is quickly replaced by an overlay of "Alter," perhaps suggesting they hacked into the system.

This appears on the screen for a matter of milliseconds, so if you were watching the trailer on autopilot, you were almost guaranteed to miss it.

Is Alter coming in Apex Legends Season 21?

So far, Respawn hasn't officially confirmed any information about Season 21, so we're in the dark on its side for now. However, this teaser and multiple leaks referring to "Alter" make it highly likely that they will be entering the Outlands in the next major update.

Given there was no new character in Season 20, it would be very unusual for the devs to roll out two seasons with no new Legends.

Either way, keep your eyes peeled. Respawn is getting adventurous with their teasers, and given that there's a giant green portal in the sky, it's very likely that there are more wild clues to come ahead of Season 21.
