Adult entertainment star called out for streaming on Twitch

Twitch has a lot of problems, and a lot of them can be traced back to elitism and misogyny. Try to act surprised.
There's been a long-standing reputation of gamers getting defensive when women enter their spaces, and though we shouldn't be shocked by this, it's pretty grim that in 2023 we're still putting up with greasy incels kicking up a fuss when women try to get involved.
Thankfully, the likes of Rachell "Valkyrae" Hofstetter and Imane "Pokimane" Anys have been able to prosper despite this, but that doesn't mean discrimination doesn't seep into their Twitch chats too. And now, as one sex worker has revealed her arrival on Twitch, users are starting to debate her place on the platform.
Pornstar Eva Elfie joins Twitch

Adult film actress Eva Elfie revealed on Instagram that she was going to be stepping into the streaming world with her very first Twitch stream, and would you believe, the site's users aren't particularly happy about it?
The response to the 22-year-old's announcement has been pretty foul, but she's soldiered on regardless, with the streams that see her sitting by and in her rubber pool, talking to her chat, and rating their Instagram accounts. She's been reaching around 30k views each.
It seems to be going well for her Eva Elfie so far, and that's even in spite of the "hot tub meta" being largely over. Her journey to Twitch appears to be treating her well, but of course, users aren't very happy about it.

Comments on the Instagram post that revealed Elfie foray into Twitch saw an awful lot of rage. Generally, many declared that Twitch wasn’t a place that would welcome her.
"Twitch is for games not for nudes…" says one comment, while another added, "Naah Twitch is for games not for you." A third concluded, "I think you'll get banned in the first few minutes 💀💀💀." So far, her Twitch is still intact, so we'll have to wait and see.
Ultimately, Eva Elfie swapping the traditional porn industry for Twitch and getting such a backlash is yet another example of gamers gatekeeping sites from sex workers and women at large. Just let her get on with it - you don't have to sub if you don't want to.
