If you are playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you might be wondering where to find Captain Hoz to complete the first objective of the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the latest instalment in the beloved franchise, and the game features a number of quests and challenges that will test your skills and knowledge of Hyrule. One of these quests is Crisis at Hyrule Castle, which requires you to find Captain Hoz, the leader of the search party for Princess Zelda.

How to start Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest

You will unlock the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest automatically after you complete To The Kingdom of Hyrule, which is the first main quest of the game. In this quest, you will meet Purah and Robbie in Lookout Landing, who will tell you about their plan to find Zelda. They will ask you to go to Hyrule Castle and meet up with Captain Hoz, who leads a team of soldiers to search for clues.

Captain Hoz’s location will be marked on your map as soon as you start the quest. You will see that he is in the First Gatehouse, a building near Hyrule Castle's entrance. To get there, you will have to leave Lookout Landing and head north through the ruins of Hyrule Castle Town. Along the way, you can collect some weapons and items and complete Kyononis Shrine if you want.

When you reach the castle gates, you will notice that they are too big and heavy for you to open. You will have to find another way around them. You can do this by jumping over the side of the walkway by the gates and walking around them. You will meet some guards who will tell you that Captain Hoz is in the first gatehouse up ahead.

Follow the path until you reach the gatehouse. You can enter it from the lower level. However, Hoz is not on this level. He is on the roof of the gatehouse. The problem is that it is raining too hard to climb the walls of the gatehouse. You will have to use some creativity to reach the roof. You can do this using Ultrahand, a new ability that lets you grab and move objects from a distance.

You will see some construction materials near the gatehouse, such as wooden panels and barrels. You can use Ultrahand to grab two wooden panels and stack them together to form a ramp. Then, you can use Ultrahand again to place the ramp on top of one of the walls and climb it.

Once you are on top of the first wall, you can grab your ramp with Ultrahand again and position it to climb the rest of the way up and onto the roof of the gatehouse.

Alternatively, you can also use Ascend to hop through the roof of the gatehouse, but we like to get a bit more creative here at GGRecon.

You will have to go around on the left side of the roof to find Captain Hoz, who is shown in the screenshot above.
