Players may be wondering, will Skate 4 be on PS5? It's been over 12 years since we last saw a Skate game, and during that time fans consistently pressed EA about developing another sequel, and it seemed to work as we got an official announcement back in 2020. The developers, Full Circle, have also been eager to show fans progress, with them even recently announcing a playtest, where players can access the pre-alpha to try the game and give feedback. We're still light on a lot of information though, especially regarding the platforms it will debut on, so here's a primer on if Skate 4 will be on PS5.

We have no official confirmation on whether Skate 4 will make it to PlayStation 5 yet, and the only announced platform as of now is PC, which is somewhat odd considering the original trilogy are console exclusives. It does seem likely that the game will be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S though, making it a next-gen title.

We know that development on the title is still early days, and it's likely still a couple of years from release at least. This would put the release roughly four years into the console cycle, at which point the majority of games would be primarily developed for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

During the sign-up process for the Skate 4 playtest, players have the option of selecting PlayStation or Xbox as their primary platform, but this doesn't really specify which of the consoles that future playtests might make it too. Another option that can be checked is mobile. This means it's very possible that the game is still released on the PS4 and Xbox One so that Full Circle can hit as wide a market as possible, along with the Nintendo Switch, as touchscreen functionality can easily cross over from a mobile version.

For now, that's our answer to the question, will Skate 4 be on PS5? We'll make sure to update this article to reflect any future news we here, especially if the game is formally announced for the PS5.

Make sure to also check out all the information we have on the Skate 4 release date, gameplay, trailers, and more.
