Hades 2 is one of my most anticipated upcoming releases, and I'm sure I'm not alone - so figuring out how to sign up for a teaser playtest is definitely a must.

Much like the first game, its sequel follows an Early Access release pattern where players will be able to 'preview' the game as it's developed, but there's also a Technical Test prior to this that gives you the opportunity to try it out before anyone else.

How to sign up for the Technical Test

In order to sign up for the Hades 2 Playtest, all you need to do is press the 'Request Access' button on the game's Steam page, shown in the image below. As far as I can tell this is only available on Steam and no other platforms, but it shouldn't matter if you don't own the first game on Steam.

There is no set date for when the Technical Test will become available to players, but the page itself seems to make it clear that it'll be very soon. Furthermore, there will be multiple invite periods as access is rolled out to more players, so don't be too disheartened if you miss out on the first wave.

What is the Technical Test in Hades 2?

This particular playtest offers a limited number of players a small fraction of what will be available in Hades 2's Early Access launch and aims to ensure that the proper launch is as smooth as possible.

Supergiant Games has estimated that this playtest will roughly be available for 'longer than a week, shorter than a month', but you'll likely get through all of the available content in a much shorter space of time.

In terms of what's available, it's stated that the first major area and some early-game characters will be accessible within the playtest - but it still remains a fraction of the Early Access availability, and Supergiant discourages replaying this too much.
