Map Changes
Let's start with the big stuff. The most notable addition to the Warzone Season 5 map are the Mobile Broadcast Stations, which change from match-to-match, hence "mobile". These Mobile Broadcast Stations essentially increase the rewards players will receive from earning kills and competing in their vicinity.
There's also a teaser for some upcoming in-game event in the Warzone Season 5 patch notes, stating the following:
"[[REDACTED]] has gone off grid and reports suggest [[REDACTED]] is doing [[REDACTED]] in Verdansk - what, we do not know. This is an unauthorized [[REDACTED]] that could jeopardize our [[REDACTED]] in discovering and stopping Stitch."
Whatever this means is yet to be seen, but no doubt we'll find out soon enough.
There's also a brand-new gulag called Rush, which is based on the classic Black Ops 2 map and current Black Ops Cold War map. Watch out for the red doors as well, as they may send you to "unexpected locations other than the main room".
Weapon Changes
Let's start with the two new weapons: the EM2 assault rifle and TEC-9 submachine gun, both of which are unlocked via the free battle pass. The EM2 is a slow-firing, high-damage assault rifle that has a built-in optic. This makes it better suited to players who like having the high ground, picking players off from a distance, compared to the TEC-9 which is a semi-auto submachine gun by default. This makes it an SMG suited to a longer range than most, but you can equip muzzle attachments that turn it into a three-burst or fully-auto gun. Both guns have been added to the Warzone loot pool.
Some minor changes have been made to the magazine attachments for the AMP63 sidearm too. The 20 Rnd and 20 Rnd Speed Mag both now hold 25 bullets, while the STANAG 25 Rnd and Salvo 23 Rnd Fast Mag have been increased to 30 bullets each.
Later on in Season 5, the Cane melee weapon and Marshal handgun will be added and unlocked via challenges.
New Perks
For the first time in Warzone history, two new perks have been added to the game:
Tempered (Slot 2): Armor Plates are reinforced and now absorb 75 damage instead of 50. Only two Armor Platers are needed for an Operator to be considered "fully armored".
Combat Scout (Slot 3): Damaging an enemy briefly highlights and automatically pings them.
On top of that, the description for Cold Blooded has been adjusted to negate Combat Scout, which means E.O.D. may now have some competition in the meta.
New Operators
For the last of the major new additions, we have the new operators. Only Kitsune: Warsaw Pact is available on launch, as the badass, eye-patch wearing operator hailing from Japan is unlocked at Tier 0 of the new battle pass. Reach Tier 100, and you'll unlock an ultra-rare skin for her though.
Later on in the season, two NATO operators, Stryker and Hudson will be added, but details on them will be revealed later down the line.
That's not all when it comes to the Warzone Season 5 patch notes, but everything else can be considered minor. Find all the smaller bug fixes and slight adjustments on the official blog post from Raven Software.
