Warzone Error x41 is causing some players a lot of issues after being introduced during the game's most recent patch, so you may want to know the causes, along with some fixes for it.
Warzone is as popular as ever, with the launch of 2.0 in late-2022 causing a lot of players to jump from the original version. While it's successful, there are still issues with performance and bugs that can affect the game and make it worse for players, with Error x41 proving to be frustrating for parties of players.
So, take a look at our breakdown of the Warzone Error x41 fixes.

Error x41 Warzone causes and fixes
The Warzone Error x41 bug seems to appear when parties of four attempt to join a match in the Resurgence Quads and Battle Royale Quads modes. It pops up as you try to join the match, and essentially stops you from being able to play.
We don't know exactly why this error occurs, but luckily there are some workarounds to help fix the problem, which we'll highlight below. While none of these fixes will guarantee that you never encounter Error x41 again, it will temporarily let you get back to playing.
Change the party leader
A simple and easy in-game fix is to just change the party leader in your group. The error seems to be tied to the host, so if the current host encounters it, try a new party leader and see if the error pops up again. If it doesn't, you are good to start playing.
Reset internet
The classic and easy fix that seems to work for most things can also work here. Either reset your internet from the router itself, or disconnect it directly from your device, and once the internet is back up, it should work.
Restore licenses
This fix only works for PlayStation consoles, but it's a simple way of sorting the problem. You just need to restore the licenses for the game you are playing by navigating to the systems.
PlayStation 4
- Go to 'Settings'.
- Select 'Account Management'.
- Finally, click 'Restore Licenses' and try playing again.
PlayStation 5
- Select 'Settings'.
- Click 'Users and Accounts', then 'Other'.
- Press 'Restore Licenses' and try playing again.
Verify game files
This is a fix that only works for PC users, but it essentially runs through all of the game's files, fixing any errors it finds.
Steam
- Go to your library.
- Right-click Modern Warfare 2 and select 'Properties'.
- Click the 'Local Files' tab, then select 'Verify integrity of game files' and wait for the process to finish.
Battle.net
- Select Modern Warfare 2.
- Click the gear icon next to the play button.
- Select 'Scan and repair' and wait for the process to finish.
That's all for our coverage of different methods to fix the Warzone Error x41 bug, and now you know some ways to potentially fix the problem and get back to playing with your party.
