Warzone has been having a rough time of it as of late and the Warzone error code 48 has only managed to make things worse. Warzone has faced a myriad of issues from invisible skins to fans issuing complaints over the killer Krampus creature during the Festive Fervor event. However, now players are being faced with a new issue, the Warzone error code 48. This guide will break down what the Warzone error code 48 is and the best ways to counter it.

As was the case with the error torch issue, there is no official fix for the Warzone error code 48 as of yet. Ravens Software, the developer of Warzone, hasn't made any statement about the error as of yet, and it seems that despite being rife over the weekend, is still plaguing some players across all platforms. Despite having no official fix, there are some workarounds to the issue. To bypass the Warzone error code 48, try out the following:

  • Go Offline In-Game And The Back Online
  • Try Updating Warzone
  • Restart The App/Console
  • Uninstall and reinstall Warzone.

The first is the easiest of the lot, and seems to be working for some players. Once the error comes up you will have the option to "Go Offline". Select this then go back online. This reportedly worked for some players.

Secondly, you can leave the app and try to update it from there. Press the options or view button on PlayStation or Xbox and select check for update. If you are on Battle.net launcher on PC, click the cog symbol next to the "play" options, and you should be able to check for updates from there. This will hopefully urge the game to apply the update and allow you in. If that doesn't work, you can also just reset the game, console or PC. This tends to be a general option that you should always check out.

As an absolute last resort, you can uninstall the game and do a complete reinstall. But only do this if you've exhausted all other options. Warzone is a chunky file, so depending on internet speeds it can take an age to reinstall.

The Warzone error code 48 seems to be the result of a recent patch, which fixed the invisible skin issue. The patch introduced both error code 48 and the Warzone error torch issue. Both arrived just as Activision phased out the Festive Fervor event, which many players claimed was being spoiled by the annoying Krampus

The Warzone Error Code 48 happens as players are trying to log into the game, with the error stating that the "download has failed". It seems as though the error is caused by you device failing to register that a new update is needed for the game, and as you know, online games are unplayable if they aren't up to the latest version of the game.

That's everything you need to know about Warzone error code 48. We've got our fingers crossed that Ravens Software will sort things out swiftly, but if not these workarounds should help you out in the meantime.
