Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Nintendo Switch?
Click to enlargeSadly for Switch-only fans, no, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is not on Nintendo Switch. The Fallen Order sequel is only coming to PC and the current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
The fact that Jedi: Survivor is avoiding the Nintendo Switch is no surprise, since the aforementioned first game released in 2019 avoided the system as well.
Four years later, all the while there being no technical upgrades for the Nintendo Switch whatsoever, Jedi: Survivor not being on the platform as well comes as little shock.
As to why, it simply comes down to Respawn Entertainment not wanting this fully new-gen game to be technologically capped by the technical limitations of older platforms.
This was elaborated in a March 2023 interview with PLAY magazine, game director Stig Asmussen - who spoke about why Jedi: Survivor isn't coming to PS4 and Xbox One.
In the interview, he elaborates that by Jedi: Survivor solely utilising the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S' larger and faster capabilities in memory, loading times, and processors, it will be a far more technologically superior title.
As the Switch continues to age and the technology gap with other consoles keeps widening, we'll likely see more AAA titles skip the Nintendo system until new hardware is announced.
