Flint is an extremely useful resource in Smalland: Survive the Wilds that is used for building better weapons and tools, which are essential for a survival game. To find out how to get Flint in the game and how to use it, read here.

Where can you get Flint?

Flint can only be found near water, meaning the best place to look for it is near the beach on the southern coast of where you first spawn.

Once you spawn, use your map to navigate south to the beach and avoid any enemies on the way. Flint will naturally appear much larger than you may expect due to your small size, it will be black and smooth and will poke out of the sand of the beach, near the sea.

You'll need to equip a Mandibular Pickaxe to harvest the Flint. To make a Mandibular Pickaxe, bring the following ingredients to a workbench and craft one:

  • One Bull Ant Mandible
  • Resin x5
  • Wood x5
  • Fiber x5

All of these materials are relatively simple to gather, the most difficult will most likely be the Bull Ant Mandible which will require you to defeat a Bull Ant to gather. Bull Ants can be found in the mines near Kalev.

Once you have Flint, it can be used for a variety of tools and weapon upgrades at a Stonecutter. These include:

  • Flint Hatchet
  • Pickaxe
  • The Flint Sword
  • Flint Spear

The Stonecutter can be crafted with 10x Stone, 1x Bottlecap, 1x Screw, and 10x Wood and is an important early-game crafting item.
