During the live stream, The Sims team revealed more details about The Sims 4 Horse Ranch pack including the following details:

  • There will be animations between Sims from horseback.
  • The CAS mode for horses will operate similarly to Cats and Dogs, featuring patterned swatches and a long list of horse breeds available.
  • Relationships between Sims and horses will play a pivotal role in the game. The livestream featured two types of introductions to horses, one frightful and the other friendly, which started the Sim off with a good relationship with the horse.
  • Mini goats and sheep will be in the pack along with the ability to craft Nectar.
  • Sims will be able to host events to show off their animals.

  • Free Spirit
  • Friendly
  • Independent
  • Intelligent

The Sims team showed off more early footage of Project Rene, including prototypes of how the lighting system will work in the game. The team emphasised that they want the lighting to be dynamic enough to add to storytelling and to look sleek across both PC and mobile, emphasising that the game will release across both platforms.

We also saw early renditions of Sim introductions, and different animations based on mood, similar to what we know from The Sims 4 - with Sims interacting with each other and objects simultaneously.

Footage of placeholder Sims was used, showing them navigating through a busy neighbourhood with a set daily routine. The hope from the team is that this will enable environments to feel busy and lived-in.

Hair choices were given priority and we got a prototype glimpse of an ombre system used to dip dye hair for added customisation.

Behind the Sims released details of two upcoming Kits, the Goth Fashion and Medieval Castle Kits which are scheduled to release in early 2024.

The Kits were chosen by players via a community poll earlier this month and are themed around Gothic fashion and medieval architecture as the names would suggest. This is great news for goths and The Sims Medieval fans alike.

Behind The Sims Freeplay and Mobile announcements

The Sims Mobile is receiving a new beach lot, larger than the previous lot. The beach will come equipped with a dock and jetski.

Meanwhile, The Sims Freeplay will feature a new day spa with two new career paths to help treat Sims customers to a pampering.
