How to find all the upgrade points in Shadow Warrior 3

The Shadow Warrior 3 Upgrade Points locations are important to know if you plan to fully upgrade Lo Wang. Shadow Warrior 3 comes with an upgrade system that allows you to improve your abilities and weapons by collecting purple and silver orbs across the game's levels. It's the key to unleashing your full potential, and on the hardest difficulty, these upgrades are a must for completing the game. The first upgrade point of the game is pretty much unmissable, and comes shortly after beginning the second level. Just follow the path forward, and it will be inside a shaded area directly in front of you.

The next can be found after moving through the level a bit more. Get the grappling hook, and you'll arrive in the next area. Follow the path until you have to jump to a wooden ledge with an enemy Shogai. Follow these ledges, and you will come across an upgrade point before entering the combat arena.

After the previous combat arena, carry on until you get to a wooden walkway that breaks and causes you to slide down toward the edge of a cliff. A cutscene will show the other side of the chasm in front of you, and once it ends, turn to the right and look down toward the little faded copper Buddha statue. Drop down, and the orb can be found on the other side.

After you've been introduced to the Oni Hanma enemy, you will fight through two combat arenas. After coming out of the second one, the next upgrade point can be found directly on the path ahead in front of a large statue.

Directly after the previous orb, you will cross a wooden bridge before having to slide and grapple hook to another wooden walkway below the previous combat arena. As soon as you land on the wooden walkway, look to your right, and the orb is located inside a nook.

The first upgrade point you can find is easily missable. After beginning the level and following the path, you'll get to a stalactite which you can wall run on. Across the gap, the raccoon you're chasing will have stopped, and once you land where he stood, face your right to see some rocks you can climb. Once you are up there, there will be a wall you can run on to reach an isolated rock ledge with the upgrade point.

After the very first combat arena that introduces you to the Laser Shogun demon, go out of the gate and the upgrade point will be on the path directly ahead.

After you cross the huge whirlpool by wall running and land on the next path, follow the raccoon forward until he jumps into the water. Turn left, and you should see a path leading up and toward another wall run. Cross this, and you can jump up to reach the next upgrade point.

After taking part in some more fights, you will need to wall run underneath a cobble bridge. On the other side, you can find another upgrade point near the edge of a ledge that overlooks a huge whirlpool.

You'll go into another combat arena soon after the previous upgrade point, and once you leave you'll come across a tree surrounded by candles. Walk to the left side of the tree and drop down to find another upgrade point.

Shortly after beginning the mission and taking part in some fights, you'll begin to climb up a wooden tower. After reaching the top, there's a wooden ledge that leads you out, with a finisher pickup at the end. Instead, walk between the boxes and follow the walkway until you arrive at the upgrade point.

A little later in the mission, you will pick up a weapon called the Basilisk. Kill the enemies that spawn in front of you, and follow the path up the stairs while watching your right for a small hole in the rock wall. Follow that path forward until you see the upgrade point on a rock ledge.

Carrying on after the previous one, you will climb some rocks and come to the dam wall. Turn around, and you will see a rock arch with a climbable rock face. Jump up on the arch and follow it until the middle for the next upgrade point.

After traveling across the dam wall by wall running and using your grapple hook, you will come to the point where you're behind the waterfalls. Between both of the waterfalls is a wooden ledge with an upgrade point right at the end.

Keep following the linear path and climbing until you get to the roof of a temple by using a grapple hook. The upgrade point will be on the walkway just ahead.

After arriving at the top of the dam itself, keep moving forward until you come into a room just before a combat arena. On the left side as you enter is a gap in some boxes. Follow this down and climb some boxes for the next upgrade point.

After finishing the first combat arena, instead of carrying on by destroying the yellow blockage in the cave, turn around and grapple up the ledge nearby. Look up and there will be another destructible yellow blockage with a grapple point behind. Once you get up there you can find an upgrade point.

After following the level for a bit and killing some lesser Yokai, you will come to a small dead tree which you need to crouch underneath. The next upgrade point is directly ahead at the end of a ledge.

Carry on until you get to a large combat arena and finish the fight. Afterwards, you will need to climb nearby and activate some wooden lifts by shooting their buttons. Once you lower the last lift and get on, let it take you all the way up, and follow the short path up the ruins to the next upgrade point.

Follow the path you were supposed to take after getting on the final lift, and you will wall run to a stone platform with the next upgrade point on it.

After taking part in a short combat section, follow the path, and you will be introduced to the Hattori enemy type in a small circular room. After killing them, on the right side from where you entered is a button that lowers a stone platform with a dragon face on it. Let the platform take you up and follow the path until you can jump across the arena to get the upgrade point on a ledge.

After leaving the cave, you will arrive at a section with a bunch of large red bamboo where you will pick up a new weapon that shoots shurikens. After killing the enemies that spawn, look for a small waterfall through the trees and once you're stood in front of it, turn right and follow the path up to find the upgrade point.

Follow the level forward until you get to a combat arena and then cross a nearby river. You'll have to enter the building by shooting the yellow blockage behind the door inside, letting you climb to the second floor. Once there jump across to the wooden ledge and get an upgrade point.

After killing all the enemies in the next big combat arena, instead of lowering the bridge and carrying on through the level, navigate toward the back of the arena where a large statue overlooking the area. Underneath this is a wall that can be run across with a health pickup in the middle. Run across the wall and shoot the yellow blockage that can be seen below to get the orb inside.

Once you lower the nearby bridge, stand on it and look to your left where a blockage can be destroyed. Jump across, then wall run, and you can get to an island in the middle of the river with an upgrade point on it.

Get back on the bridge and carry on forward up the stairs. Another upgrade point will be in front of a statue ahead.

After getting off the raft and finishing your first small combat section, use the grapple hook on the edge of the arena to swing around and get the upgrade point in mid-air.

A lengthier combat section will occur after this, once you cross the river. Finish it, and climb the nearby wall to find the next upgrade point in front of where you can jump back onto the raft.

Shortly after getting back on the raft, it will go over a waterfall, while you land on a rocky bit just on the edge. Turn around and you can see a little cave. Enter and follow it for the next upgrade point.

After doing some platforming and swinging across a huge gap by using two grapple points, you will climb a wall and an upgrade point will be right in front of you at the top.

You'll eventually get to a large combat arena on the river. Once it's finished, follow the marked path and begin crossing the broken bridge. On the largest part of the bridge near the end, the next orb can be found.

After arriving at the opposite side of the river, down to your right will be another large combat arena. Instead, follow the path forward into a small cave area that leads out to a fence overlooking the river. On the right, is a rock ledge you can jump to for another upgrade point.

After finishing the first combat arena of the level, you will go through a door and up some stairs. At the top, on your left is a gap in the rocks that can be crouched under to get the first upgrade point.

After getting the previous orb, follow the path ahead and use the grapple point for a platforming section. The next upgrade point will be along this path.

After following the level on for a while, you will get to a part where you are introduced to Chef Oboru Guruma's enemy. Finish this combat section and follow the path ahead through the doors. Activate the lift in the water and jump across to get the next orb in front of a large statue.

After getting the last orb, you will activate another lift from the water to jump to a large rock. If you turn right upon landing, there is a tower that can be climbed with the green vines. Jump up to get the next upgrade point.

Carry on following the level until you get to the third section where you activate the giant laser weapon. After interacting with both consoles, you should be able to see the next upgrade point at the bottom of two staircases next to where the third console can be interacted with to start the laser.

After starting the laser, look straight ahead in the direction of the laser, and you should see a gap in the fence. Drop down and follow the path to the right, and the next upgrade point will be next to two columns.

Upgrade Points in the Magic Tree Part One

After starting the next level and dropping into the forest section, the first orb can be found directly ahead.

After finishing the first combat arena of the level, you'll do some platforming and land on a horizontal tree trunk. Fight the enemies that spawn and collect the orb directly ahead.

Carry on following the mission until the next combat section and finish it. Follow the route and leave the area by platforming across some trees, and you'll come across two floating Kugutsu. Kill them and land on the tree trunk behind them for the next upgrade point.

Upgrade Points in the Magic Tree Part Two

The first part of this mission has no collectibles, but once you reach Hoji and begin the section to escort the raccoon, keep following the path and platforming ahead. Eventually, you'll reach a wall running part that leads to an icy ledge with the first upgrade point on it.

After finishing the first combat arena, follow the spiral path upward around the arena. The third platform which you grapple to will contain a small ledge on the left side with the next upgrade point.

After reaching the top you will arrive at another combat arena. Finish the fight and trigger the cutscene where you fall all the way down again. You'll land on a wooden ledge, and in front of you will be a statue with the upgrade point.

Carry on forward into another short combat section. Once it's finished, climb up and keep the wall running and grappling until you reach solid ground again. The next upgrade point will be in front of you, just before another grapple point.

Keep climbing up and fight some more enemies until you get to the point where you see the dragon in the sky again. In front of you is a rock you can jump to. On the right side is a little ledge you can drop to where the next orb is.

Upgrade Points in the Heart Of The Dragon Part One

The first orb is this mission can be found by following the linear platforming path. You'll come into a canyon area, so follow the wall running section until you climb up, and then the upgrade point is directly ahead.

Keep platforming ahead until you come out of the canyon, and slide down some ice to a climbable wall. The orb will be directly at the top of the wall, ahead of you.

Once again, keep moving forward, and you'll come to another ice slide where you have to hit two grapple points to cross a large gap. After landing, there will be a large climbable wall ahead, but instead drop down to the right of it and climb up another wall to get an upgrade point.

Upgrade Points in the Heart Of The Dragon Part Two

After beginning this level, move forward until you get to the first small combat section. Finish it and carry on forward, climbing up the surrounding ice. Once you reach some flat ground, hug the right wall and crouch to find a little cave with an upgrade point inside.

After entering the dragon and taking part in some combat sections follow the path forward and destroy the yellow blockage. You'll have to drop into a bit of lava and hit a grapple point to save yourself. Turn around once you've done this, and grapple again to the other side for the upgrade point.

After some more platforming, you'll come to a large jumping pad that sends you far upwards. Hit a grapple hook and then wall run, and you'll be back on stable ground. Look to your left to see an upgrade point which can accessed by turning left and again, jumping up, and dropping into the small chamber with the orb.

What are Upgrade Points in Shadow Warrior 3?

The upgrade points are simply little orbs that you collect and allow you to upgrade your character abilities and weapons. The purple orbs indicate a character upgrade point, whereas a silver one can be used to upgrade weapons.

All abilities and weapons have three upgrades that can be activated with one orb, two orbs, and four orbs respectively. There are also orbs that can be earned through completing challenges which we won't be covering here, and collecting every orb in the game will reward you with an achievement.
