Showdown in the Shadows is the latest Team Go Rocket Special Research quest in Pokemon GO, leading you straight to an encounter with Giovanni himself - so here are all the tasks and rewards involved.
As part of the Halloween 2023 celebrations, another Team GO Rocket Takeover is taking place in Pokemon GO, meaning this truly is a spooky season. During these takeover events, the lineup for each Team Go Rocket member changes, and a new Special Research quest is introduced to the game.
The latest addition is the Showdown in the Shadows Special Research quest, which will eventually lead you to an encounter with Giovanni and his new Shadow Regigigas. To get ahead of the game, you'll find all of the tasks and rewards included in this quest below.

How to get Showdown in the Shadows Special Research quest
You can get the Showdown in the Shadows Special Research quest automatically by logging in to Pokemon GO before December 1, 2023, at 10AM local time. That's when the current Adventures Abound season is scheduled to end.
If you've logged in to the game and you've still not received this quest, it might be the case that you've got a previous Team GO Rocket Special Research quest that needs to be completed before you can access this one.
The good news is that once you've claimed the Showdown in the Shadows Special Research quest, you'll be able to complete it in your own time. There's no deadline to finish it and claim that Super Rocket Radar.
