Team Rocket is back in the latest Special Research, Shadowy Skirmishes. Here are all the Shadowy Skirmishes Pokemon GO tasks and rewards.
Announced during the current Crackling Voltage event, Team Rocket is appearing more frequently in Pokemon GO with the release of the new Special Research, Shadowy Skirmishes. This new research is centred around fighting Team Rocket grunts and leaders, before tracking down and defeating their boss, Giovanni, with a chance to catch a Shadow Registeel. Here are all of the Shadowy Skirmishes Pokemon GO tasks and rewards.
Shadowy Skirmishes Pokemon GO Tasks And Rewards
To start the Shadowy Skirmishes Pokemon GO Special Research, you'll either have it activated automatically if you've already completed the Team Rocket tutorial mission "A Troubling Situation". Otherwise, you'll need to finish it.
Afterward, there will be five Steps of the Special Research to complete. The Shadowy Skirmishes Pokemon GO Special Research is available from Wednesday, 1 February at 12AM to Wednesday, 1 March 2023 at 10AM local time.
Step 1
Step 1 of Shadowy Skirmishes has the following tasks and rewards:
- Defeat 6 Team GO Rocket Grunts - rewards with Helioptile encounter
- Make 3 Nice Curveball Throws in a row - rewards with Helioptile encounter
- Earn 2 Candies exploring with your buddy - rewards with Helioptile encounter
Completing Step 1 will reward you with 2000 XP, Pokeball x 15, and Revive x 10.
Step 2
Step 2 of Shadowy Skirmishes has the following tasks and rewards:
- Defeat 6 Team GO Rocket Grunts - rewards with Hyper Potion x 10
- Catch 4 Shadow Pokémon - rewards with Poke Ball x 10
- Purify 2 Shadow Pokémon - rewards with Pinap Berry x 10
Completing Step 2 will reward you with 2000 XP, Great Ball x 15, and Rocket Radar x 1.
Step 3
Step 3 of Shadowy Skirmishes has the following tasks and rewards.
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo - rewards with 1500 XP
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff - rewards with 1500 XP
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra - rewards with 1500 XP
Completing Step 3 will reward you with 2500 XP, Stardust x 1000, and Super Rocket Radar x 1.
Step 4
Step 4 of Shadowy Skirmishes has the following tasks and rewards.
- Find the Team GO Rocket Boss - rewards with Max Potion x 5
- Battle the Team GO Rocket Boss - rewards with Ultra Ball x 20
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss - rewards with Max Revive x 5
Completing Step 4 will reward you with 3000 XP, Lucky Egg x 1, and Golden Razz Berry x 2. After defeating Giovanni during Step 4, this is when you will have the chance to catch and rescue Shadow Registeel.
Step 5
Step 5 of Shadowy Skirmishes has the following tasks and rewards.
- Claim Reward! - rewards with 2500 XP
- Claim Reward! - rewards with 2500 XP
- Claim Reward! - rewards with 2500 XP
Completing Step 5 will reward you with 5000 XP, Stardust x 2500, and Silver Pinap Berry x 2.
