Pokemon GO Festival of Lights Timed Research tasks & rewards
To celebrate the Festival of Lights event returning to Pokemon GO, Trainers can complete Timed Research and Field Research tasks for some great rewards.
The annual Festival of Lights event has returned to Pokemon GO, meaning there's a new set of Timed Research and Field Research tasks to work your way through.
Running from November 7 to November 12, this year's event features the debut of Tadbulb as well as Electric and Fire-type Pokemon spawning in the wild. There are also themed research tasks that lead to reward encounters with rare creatures like Dedenne and Morelull!
Pokemon GO Festival of Lights Timed Research tasks
Here are all of the Timed Research tasks and the rewards you can earn for completing them:

Pokemon GO Festival of Lights Field Research tasks
Here are all of the event-exclusive Field Research tasks you can unlock during the Festival of Lights event:
- Catch 5 Pokemon - 5 Poke Balls, 3 Great Balls, 3 Razz Berries, or 3 Pinap Berries
- Explore 1km - Morelull encounter
- Hatch 2 Eggs - Tadbulb encounter
- Send a Gift with a sticker - Darumaka encounter
- Spin 10 PokeStops or Gyms - Morelull encounter or Tadbulb encounter

You can get these Field Research tasks by spinning PokeStops during the Festival of Lights event. If you don't get the one you want, remember that you can delete tasks and spin a different PokeStop to get another one.
With the event ending on November 12, 2023, at 8PM local time, you've only got a few days to earn all of these rewards. All of those Tadbulb encounter rewards will be very useful if you want to evolve a Bellibolt!
