MW2 Season 2 Release Date
Many of us are wondering when the MW2 Season 2 release date is, as the first season isn't far away from finishing after releasing back on November 16, and players are thirsty for new content. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 has been a success for Activision, and despite some launch problems and persistent complaints, the player base has remained strong. MW2 Season 2 Release Date
Click to enlargeThe Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 release date will be February 15, 2023, giving players just under a month left to finish their battle pass and claim any time-gated content that will be unavailable in the next season. This date was confirmed by the official Call of Duty Twitter account, which also gave some information on what we can expect from the new season. This date also falls on a Wednesday, which is typically when big updates are released for COD titles.
We don't have a whole lot of information on what will be added as part of the second season for MW2 and Warzone 2, but you can definitely expect a brand-new battle pass with more cosmetics, double XP boosts, and other rewards. It's also confirmed that we'll see some new maps, weapons, Operators, and game modes with the new season, expanding on the already existing content.
So far, some of the leaks have hinted at a Japanese theme, with one of the key art images showing an Operator with a katana (see above). We also know that we'll be getting a new Warzone 2 Resurgence map, which is expected to be a much smaller battleground for the battle royale mode.
All the information on the upcoming second season will likely be officially revealed over the remainder of January and February on the COD socials, so stay tuned for any teasers or announcements. We'll also update this with the new roadmap trailer that is likely to drop sometime before February 15.
