Some of the latest events in MW2 have required you to get revenge kills, but it can be quite tricky to pick them up or even know what they are in the first place.

Getting even has always been a staple of Call of Duty multiplayer and it is very much the same in Modern Warfare 2, but to maximize this you will need to do some rather specific things.

The easiest way to get revenge kills

The first thing is to head to a small map that will let you get as many kills as possible - and theoretically die as many times as possible too. Maps like Shipment, Shoot House, and Dome are perfect for this, as you are almost destined to repeatedly run into your in-game nemesis due to the cramped nature of the space.

Your next best option is to play a game mode with a small number of players on each team like 4v4 Ranked. The theory here is that the smaller player count will mean that you're more likely to encounter the specific person who killed you as opposed to having to face six or eight players, for example.

While these game modes do tend to be slower overall, you could actually get this particular challenge done quicker if you're lucky.

What are revenge kills?

Revenge kills in Modern Warfare 2 are when you kill the person who killed you last. While this might seem simple, it can actually be quite tricky as it involves being in the right place at the right time.

One of the aspects that appears to be confusing most players is the fact that there is technically no 'revenge kill' medal in the game. It is instead labeled under a payback kill and has existed ever since the first Modern Warfare 2 and used to be signaled by an explosion of cash.

What Are Revenge Kills in MW2?

While they are still under the payback name, you don't need to be confused anymore as any kill on the last person to take you down will be counted as a revenge kill.
