As with every Call of Duty campaign, a lot of the challenge comes from the various achievements and trophies rather than the levels themselves. You may be tasked to complete a mission without being spotted, or maybe do the whole game on the hardest difficulty. Either way, it’s no easy feat to earn those bragging rights, and Modern Warfare 2 contains some of the trickiest achievements yet.

One way Modern Warfare 2 is challenging players is with its Keeping this One achievement. This mission-specific achievement is one of the tougher ones of the bunch, and if you’re looking for any tips or tricks, you’re in the right place.

This achievement is applicable to the mission Violence and Timing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and requires the player to reach Price using the first vehicle you hijack. After a bombastic set piece, you’ll be hanging off a helicopter before cutting yourself loose and landing on a car. This is where the achievement begins.

Firstly, ensure you’re playing the mission on Recruit difficulty. From there, your best bet is to secure a smaller truck that often has enemies sitting in the back shooting toward you. On the first truck you land on, you should have one pull-up on the right-hand side. Shoot everyone out of it, leap over, and hijack the vehicle.

From this point, it’s important to not leave the car or hijack another vehicle as it will void the Keeping this One achievement. Instead, focus on navigating towards your objective, weaving in and out of traffic that blocks your path. You can also lean out of the vehicle to fire your weapons.

Try and stay back a bit to avoid as much fire as possible, whilst using small windows of opportunity to lean out and take out the enemies driving in front of you. Don’t worry if the vehicle doesn’t stop - as long as no one is shooting you from it, you’re safe to continue. Keep doing this, and you’ll begin to make progress.

Eventually, you will run into some trickier hazards. The first is a roadblock with tons of enemies awaiting you. Slow down before reaching it, lean out your vehicle, and take out the car with explosive barrels. This will create an opening and allow you to continue to Keeping this One achievement.

After this, the hardest part of this set piece will arrive, where you must avoid mines being thrown into the road whilst also taking out enemies in other vehicles. Try and stick to the side of the road, without veering too far off that you’ll hit rocks or deviate from the objective. Try and close as much ground between you and the truck firing mines, taking out the enemy onboard. After this, it should be smooth sailing to reach Price.

If you happen to die or the car blows up, you can restart the checkpoint and continue on, allowing the Keeping this One achievement in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to still unlock if you reach the objective. It’s a bit tricky, but with perseverance, shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish.
