There are multiple ways in which players can tackle MW2 DMZ mode and the different challenges it offers in the form of faction missions, dead drops, strongholds, and other things.

While you queue for a three-person team in MW2 DMZ by default, you can also head in solo if you are up for some challenge or don't want to tag along with random players. Keep reading our guide as we explain how to play solo in the game

How do you play the game mode solo?

To play MW2 DMZ game mode solo, you must disable the "Squad Fill" option in the DMZ section. Once that is done, you can select the Map, Loadout, and start the matchmaking process to play DMZ solo.

Apart from that, there are no other options to play MW2 DMZ solo. Unlike the Battle Royale Mode, which offers four variants, Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads, DMZ is a three-player PvPvE experience.

To summarise things, here is what you must do to play solo once you're in the game:

  • Open MW2
  • Select "DMZ mode" from the "What's Hot or Games" section
  • Toggle off the "Squad Fill" option
    • You will find it beside the "Deploy" button
  • After that, select a DMZ map
  • Select or change your Loadout
  • Start the Matchmaking

On the other hand, if you want to play MW2 DMZ duos, you can head to the Party menu and invite one of your friends. Once your friend joins your Lobby, you can start the DMZ mode with the Squad Fill option turned off.

Doing so will not fill the last slot with any random player, and the game will begin with you and your friend, a near-perfect workaround to play MW2 DMZ duos.
