Fans of the most famous fish from Pokemon will be pleased to hear that Magikarp and Gyarados will be the newest playable characters added to Pokemon UNITE, but what is their official release date in the game?

We've got the latest info below regarding the release of these popular Pokemon, so read on to find out more!

What is the release date for Magikarp & Gyarados?

An official post by the Japanese Pokemon Unite page on Twitter/X states that Magikarp and Gyarados have a scheduled date of January 25, 2024

You'll be able to play as the iconic fish Pokemon and its evolution in Pokemon UNITE on this date. It'll be the first new Pokemon released in the game in 2024.

What else do we know about Magikarp in Pokemon Unite?

So far, we don't know much about Magikarp and Gyarados in Pokemon Unite. It's safe to assume Magikarp will evolve into Gyarados when you play as them but we don't know what their abilities will be yet.

A post by Pokemon UNITE simply stated "Magikarp is scheduled to join the fray in Pokemon Unite. Stay tuned for more info soon!".

Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long before we get more info about these fan-favourite sea critters in Pokemon UNITE. I don't think it's too early to say they'll be pretty popular though, with Magikarp having such powerful meme status. It's also a favourite from back in the days of the first generation of Pokemon.

And that's everything we know about Magikarp in Pokemon UNITE right now. Check back to see if there have been any more updates!
