You may wonder how many people can play Raft, as the game has dedicated online co-op that allows you and your friends to play together. Raft released in 1.0 during the end of June 2022, putting an end to its four-year early access period. It's a survival crafting game where players can explore a vast open ocean with their titular raft, exploring and scavenging on islands and underwater structures to get resources that can expand the raft further. Raft supports up to eight players in one multiplayer session, allowing you to get a good party of friends going to play together with. The game also scales slightly in difficulty with more players, meaning you need to scavenge for more food and water to sustain everyone, and deal with more enemies like the pesky sharks.

Playing with friends is also made very simple as long you both own the game via Steam. Just make or load into your world, and check the option called "Friends can join," this will allow your pals to select your server when clicking the "Join world" option on the main menu.

It's worth noting that coop only works online as there is no option for LAN, though this could change in the future now that the game is in full release.

That's all for our primer on how many people can play Raft, and now you know the number of players that can join one online coop game.

We also have an explainer on how to get the Raft Temperance code so you can gain entrance to the safe in the Observatory.
