The Halo Infinite Mangler is one of the newer weapons causing players trouble. A Banished weapon that functions like a hand cannon, getting a kill with this power weapon is proving difficult for some players. If you're trying to level your way through the Halo Infinite Heroes of Reach battle pass, then at some point you'll have to complete all the gun related challenges. However, some are harder than others to get to grips with, including the Halo Infinite Mangler. So, if you want to be one of the few players to master this powerful but hard-to-use weapon, then read onwards.

The Mangler is a new weapon in Halo Infinite, inspired by the main enemies of the campaign - the Banished, who are a returning element from Halo Wars 2. It looks and functions like a revolver/shotgun hybrid, firing slugs that are effective at all ranges, instead of a close range pellet spread. Though it has a slow fire rate and reload time, so missing a shot in a firefight is usually a death sentence, hence the trouble players are finding with it. Though it can still pack the same punch at range, the bullet has a slow travel time, so you'll need to lead your shots.

With three headshots you'll take out any enemy Spartan, and a few more body shots will also do the trick, though most weapons can take you out before you have the chance due to the slow rate of fire. There is also a blade positioned on the gun's front. This doesn't do extra melee damage, but it will earn you an achievement if you can get a kill with it.

The Mangler is a power weapon and spawns in select points on most maps, typically found in the wall containers found around the environments. You'll often find one around each spawn area, with the more powerful guns found more centrally.

The Mangler challenges relate to simply getting kills with the weapon in a matchmade game. The amount of kills depends on the tier, which seem to rise from one, to five, to ten. For an easy method of getting a kill, drop an enemies shield with your assault rifle and switch to the Mangler for a one-shot headshot. You can also do the challenges in the Bot Bootcamp mode if online matchmaking provides too much of a challenge.

Halo Infinite weekly challenges not working? This is an issue that some players are running into right now, but we have some ways to bypass it in our guide. For players looking to master all the game's maps, we also have a Halo Infinite maps list.
