Rocket Racing has finally arrived in Fortnite, giving loopers a chance to burn rubber around some high-octane race tracks. If you want to fill out your garage, here's how you can unlock new cars in the game.

One of the best things about Fortnite is the endless amount of skins you can add to your Locker. Never one to miss an opportunity to make an extra (V-)buck or two, Epic Games has also introduced several cars and decals to the new Rocket Racing mode.

How to unlock cars in Rocket Racing

There are three main ways you can unlock extra vehicles to use in Rocket Racing: Purchase them from the Item Shop, unlock them in the Battle Pass, or bring them over from your Rocket League account.

We've explained each of these methods in more detail below:

Purchase them from the Item Shop

The easiest way to get new cars is to purchase vehicle bundles from the in-game Item Shop. They are fairly expensive, though, with the cheapest bundles costing 2,500 V-Bucks. That's around $20 in real money.

Each bundle contains one car, multiple colour options, and six decal designs that can be used to customise the vehicle. Purchasing cars this way will also make them available in Rocket League, which does make it slightly better value if you play both games.

Unlock them in the Battle Pass

If you own the Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1 Battle Pass, you might have noticed that there's a Scorpion car body and three decal designs (Strips, Llama-matic, and Society) available to unlock on Page 13.

You'll need to reach Level 86 and have enough Battle Stars to unlock them all. This means you're going to need to grind a lot of Fortnite, but between Battle Royale, LEGO, and Rocket Racing modes, it's definitely possible to get there before the season ends.

Bring cars over from Rocket League

Finally, if you're an avid Rocket League player, you might already have some vehicles that can be used in Fortnite's Rocket Racing mode thanks to the cross-game ownership feature. Just make sure you're using the same Epic Games account in both games.

There are only a few cars that will cross over from Rocket League to Rocket Racing right now, like the popular Lamborghini Huracán STO, but Epic Games has promised that more vehicles will be compatible with cross-game ownership in the future.

All Fortnite players will have the Octane Car Body, OEM Wheels, and seven Decals in their Locker automatically. If you have any more Car Bodies, Decals, or Wheels in the game, that means you've probably got them from Rocket League.
