Fortnite Melee Weapons: A Full List
Fortnite is known for its chaotic action, with players building their way to victory, or heading straight into the action in no-build mode. There’s a wide range of weaponry, and it seems like every week Epic Game is switching up mechanics to constantly keep things fresh. New guns, grenades, and other utilities are being added to the fray every other week.
Melee weapons are another element that constantly keeps getting refreshed in Fortnite, with the developers adding and removing exciting new toys on a regular basis. It can be hard to keep track of what’s what, but we’ve curated a guide of everything you need to know about melee weapons in Fortnite.

Currently Available Fortnite Melee Weapons
As it stands, this season of Fortnite appears to be fairly low on melee weapons to use… for now. In fact, aside from your pickaxe - a staple and permanent attachment for your character - there are no melee weapons.
That being said, the season is still in its infancy, and Fortnite has a tendency to incorporate events across its runtime with new weapons added. A most recent example is the addition of Darth Vader last season, which allowed players to track him down, defeat him, and take his lightsaber to use as their own in battle.
With this season being themed around a Chrome substance taking over the map, it’s entirely possible we could see something that utilizes this mechanic. But as of now, there are no confirmed details.
Previous Fortnite Melee Weapons
As mentioned before, Epic Games has a track record of removing and bringing back fan-favourite weapons. With that being said, it would not be surprising to see the return of a few melee weapons from past seasons.
Here are all the melee weapons that have previously been added to Fortnite:
- Amban Sniper Rifle
- Infinity Blade
- Predator Claw
- She-Hulk’s Fists
- Sideways Scythe
- Wolverine’s Claws
Other game modes have introduced other weapons, such as Thor’s Stormbreaker in Endgame LTM, but the above weapons are the only ones that have strictly been added and removed from the battle royale mode in previous seasons.
Melee weapons such as the lightsabers have been removed and re-introduced again, so it’s extremely possible that we could be seeing the return of these at any point, or even a brand-new tool altogether. Unfortunately, Epic Games has not teased any addition as of yet.
