The latest Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 weekly update marks the return of the Lock-On Pistol. This weapon was initially introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 but was vaulted soon after that.

As the name suggests, the Lock-On is a special pistol that locks onto and tracks a target. The weapon is exceptionally useful during high-speed pursuits. With that said, here’s how you can get your hands on a Lock-On Pistol in the game.

Where to find a Lock-On Pistol in Fortnite

Fortnite’s Lock-On Pistol is a part of the normal ground loot and can also be found inside Chests and Supply Drops. You can find these things all over the map, so just keep looking until you spot one.

The Lock-On Pistol isn't quite as common as other weapons in the loot pool. Instead of roaming randomly around the Island, I would suggest looting Vaults and Rare Chests to have a higher chance of finding a Lock-On Pistol.

Lock-On Pistol stats explained

The Lock-On Pistol is a quick-shooting semi-automatic gun featuring a special tracking system that kicks in when you aim through the sights. During my playthrough, I came across the Rare variant of this weapon.

Here’s a quick rundown of Lock-On Pistol stats:

  • DPS: 375
  • Damage: 25
  • Magazine size: 12
  • Fire rate: 15
  • Reload time: 1.76s
  • Structure damage: 20

It’s worth noting that the weapon uses Light Ammo in Fortnite and has a headshot multiplier of 1.25x. Overall, the pistol is incredibly powerful in close-range combat, especially while playing Zero Build mode. So, make sure to save up a slot in your inventory for this new weapon.

That’s everything you need to know about Lock-On Pistol in Fortnite. Check out our Fortnite homepage for more news and guides! You'll need Society Medallions and Gold Bars to open Vaults and use Mod Benches.
